Job summary

Small Door Inc. is seeking a Practice Manager to lead a busy veterinary clinic within our growth-focused network.

You will manage a high-performing team, oversee scheduling, patient flow, and member experience, and partner with regional leadership to execute initiatives and ensure brand standards. This full-time role requires 4+ years in veterinary or healthcare, 2+ years of people management, strong business acumen, and comfort with Excel and Google Suite.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in veterinary or human healthcare with 2+ years of team management.
• Hospitality background or startup experience is a plus.
• Strong business acumen and ability to read and manage P&Ls.
• Comfort with Excel and Google Suite; quick to learn new software.
• Self-starter, autonomous, highly organized with tight deadlines.
• Customer service oriented and detail focused.
• Able to lift at least 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Full-time role with occasional weekend/evening duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team delivering hospitality and care.
• Hold Practice Team meetings with Clinical Leadership to cascade updates.
• Uphold safety, compliance, collaboration, and inclusivity.
• Manage bi-weekly payroll and attendance for staff.
• Resolve escalated member situations with regional leadership as needed.
• Maintain a 360° view of the practice and ensure brand standards.
• Grow and develop staff and foster an inclusive environment.
• Partner with recruitment to hire and backfill.
• Oversee onboarding of new employees into the practice.
• Oversee P&L analysis and work with leadership to grow revenue.
• Control budget: COGs, labor, and inventory.
• Review KPI dashboards and craft business plans.
• Schedule optimization for appointments, surgeries, and coverage.
• Plan quarterly nursing and member experience schedules.
• Collaborate on new initiatives with HQ/regional leadership.
• Oversee orders and inventory of office, medical, and retail supplies.
• Lead de-escalation and handle difficult situations.
