Job summary

Small Door Veterinary is seeking a Veterinary Practice Director to lead a team of doctors, mentor clinicians, and ensure exceptional patient care and client service. You will partner with leadership to recruit, onboard, and retain top talent while maintaining Small Door’s hospitality standards.

The role emphasizes clinical excellence, team development, and financial stewardship, with opportunities for growth and equity participation as the practice expands across regions.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent with an active license.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat pets and counsel clients.
• Directly manage and mentor 1–5 doctors and foster growth.
• Collaborate with Regional Medical Director to recruit and onboard talent.
• Coordinate with Ops on scheduling to ensure coverage.
• Uphold Small Door’s culture and hospitality.
• Serve as clinical point of contact for escalated medical questions.
• Monitor practice financial performance and collaborate on budget targets.
• Ensure compliance with DEA, OSHA and medical protocols.
