Job summary

Lovejoy Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care in Boston is opening a full-time Customer Service Professional role for the front desk. You will greet clients and their pets, verify appointment details, and help ensure a smooth check-in and visit experience.

You’ll coordinate appointments, answer questions, relay information between clients and staff, handle payments, and uphold a welcoming, pet-friendly environment while speaking veterinary language to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary office is required.
• Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
• Comfort discussing sensitive topics with empathy
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact: Greet clients and their pets, verify appointment details, and ensure clients feel informed and reassured.
• Support clinical flow: Escort clients to exam rooms and relay key information between clients and staff.
• Manage client communications: Handle calls for appointments, care questions, prescriptions, and reminders.
• Process payments and invoicing, schedule future appointments with attention to detail.
• Speak the language: Explain vaccines, tests, procedures, and terminology clearly.
• Maintain a welcoming space: Keep a clean, organized environment and assist with pet-related cleanup when needed.
