VEG for Pets is seeking a Nursing Trainer to empower teams across our veterinary emergency hospitals. You will lead with curiosity, coach with compassion, and develop programs that elevate care for both patients and VEGgies.

From on-the-floor mentoring to strategic curriculum design, your efforts will shape skill levels, confidence, and career growth across our network. You'll tailor training to diverse learning styles, create engaging tools, and partner with leadership to ensure programs meet

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from AVMA accredited program preferred
• Credentialed veterinary technician in the state VEG practice is located; VTS in ECC or related fields a plus
• High level of knowledge and skill in emergency medicine
• Previous training experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ownership mindset around team growth and development
• Willingness to travel to other VEG hospitals for onboarding of new veterinarians
• Ability to work in a noisy environment with strong odors
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Comfortable working with diverse teams and learning styles

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to identify individual and team training needs
• Assess assistants and credentialed technicians through direct observation and immersion
• Drive advancement through VEG's Cultivate program
• Implement VEG training programs and serve as the go-to training lead at your hospital
• Split time between on-the-floor mentoring and strategic development
• Provide tailored hands-on training for all learning styles and skill levels
• Organize peer training opportunities and build a strong mentoring culture
• Collaborate with nursing managers and professional networks to broaden impact
• Develop and refine training content (presentations, videos, simulations, assessments)
• Ensure training aligns with VEG culture, mission, and emergency standards of care
• Continuously evaluate leveling programs for assistants and technicians
