Job summary

Oregon Humane is seeking a Client Services Representative for the Community Veterinary Hospital in Portland. You will greet clients and pets, schedule appointments, and manage inquiries with empathy and professionalism. Excellent communication and a willingness to learn are essential.

Your role supports compassionate care, handles diverse client needs, and contributes to a smooth hospital experience through attentive service, coordination, and clear information on procedures and payments.

Qualifications

• 1+ years' experience providing customer service in a professional setting.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.
• Discretion, judgment, confidentiality in personnel and financial matters.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and quickly gain proficiency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
• Certified in Human CPR/First Aid within 3 months of starting employment.
• Professional demeanor in all interactions with the public, donors and staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and pets; provide exceptional front-desk care and positive check-in/out experiences.
• Check patients in for appointments and guide to exam rooms with medical team.
• Schedule appointments, surgeries, and procedures; inform clients of pre/post-care needs.
• Respond to calls and emails; assist clients with questions and requests promptly.
• Manage emotionally charged situations with tact, empathy, and respect.
• Assess patient concerns to determine urgency and escalate as needed.
• Explain invoices and charges; stay current on medical terminology and pricing.
