Job summary

VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center is seeking a client service representative to join our growing team. The CSR acts as the hospital's front line, greeting visitors, answering phones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Animal care, client/customer interaction, receptionist experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Possess a good attitude and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Knowledge of and ability to use medical abbreviations.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
• Be familiar with infectious and common zoonotic diseases; including prevention, and the steps to reduce or eliminate transmission.
• Differentiate and prioritize between routine cases and emergency cases and alert staff accordingly.
• Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
• Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
• Answering questions regarding products and services
• Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
• Handle all cash and credit card transactions including deposits and invoicing.
