Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a Veterinary Customer Service Representative 3 to manage daily workflow and act as the point person for cases seen. You will interact with clients and referring veterinarians, supporting clinicians and staff in a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities include scheduling, triaging calls, guiding clients on services and fees, and coordinating follow-up visits while maintaining timely communication with the team.

Qualifications

• 1 year of veterinary medical/office experience with strong verbal and written communication.
• Familiarity with electronic health records.
• High school graduate or equivalent per CCS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments after obtaining data and coordinates services.
• Assists clients referred from other institutions to coordinate services and travel.
• Provides receptionist level advice on care, hospital services, and fees per VMC policies.
• Directs questions to a veterinarian or staff as appropriate.
• Assists clients in scheduling follow-up visits and handles department e-mail and discharge summaries.
• Screens and triages calls to faculty, residents, and staff.
• Follows VMC guidelines for client communication in various situations and confirms next-day appointments.
