PetVet Care Centers – Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island in West Islip, NY seeks a Veterinary Receptionist (Care Coordinator) to be the first point of contact for clients. The role requires friendly client interaction, front desk efficiency, and coordination with doctors and staff in a fast-paced hospital.

The position offers full-time hours, with a 8am–6pm schedule on Wednesday through Saturday, and a comprehensive benefits package. Prior veterinary front desk experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent phone etiquette and skills, including transfers, paging, putting calls on hold, directing calls to voicemails and taking messages down.
• Computer skills.
• Demonstrate excellent interaction skills with clients and animals in the reception area.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and to take/execute directions.
• Ability to handle money transactions accurately and with honesty.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients by name in a friendly manner.
• Make pets feel welcomed at clinic.
• Answering phones and directing clients to appropriate departments.
• Make client appointments and manage appointment flow.
• Prepare patient charts for technicians and doctors.
• Collect fees for services and issue receipts.
