Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality care. You will educate clients on pet health, assist with procedures, monitor hospitalized pets, and help maintain a safe, organized hospital environment.

Key duties include obtaining patient histories, using medical software, coordinating with team, and ensuring smooth patient flow while upholding the Five Principles of Mars, Inc.

Qualifications

• Certificate of NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 to perform radiography duties and handle related materials.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality pet care.
• Educate clients about pet health and wellness plans and hospital services.
• Obtain client histories and maintain complete medical charts.
• Maintain safe, sterile, and organized treatment areas, labs, and exam rooms.
• Assist with surgery as applicable and monitor hospitalized or surgical pets.
• Mentor paraprofessionals and ensure efficient hospital operations.
