Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality care for pets. You will educate clients on wellness plans, gather histories, and help maintain a safe hospital environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, ensuring accurate medical charts, and mentoring junior staff. Must meet NAVTA certification requirements and be prepared for weekend/evening shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program certificate or equivalent
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old for radiography duties; 1 year related experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality care
• Educate clients on pet health and wellness plans
• Obtain and document patient history and medical records
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized treatment areas
• Assist with surgery and other procedures as allowed by state acts
• Mentor paraprofessionals in the hospital
• Collaborate with team to optimize patient flow and service quality
