Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at White River Junction VA Medical Center is seeking a Medical Support Assistant (MSA) for the Nursing, Acute Care services.

This full-time role provides administrative support to increase scheduling and communication integrity across all services, including patient registration and demographic updates. Responsibilities include handling phone inquiries, privacy-compliant data entry in VISTA, assisting with HealtheVet utilization, and coordinating appointment

Qualifications

• Experience providing administrative support in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with patient scheduling and registration processes.
• Knowledge of privacy rules and healthcare compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collects and updates insurance information for Veterans, families, and eligible patients.
• Screens phone calls and directs inquiries per clinic processes.
• Enter data into VISTA accurately and scan documents into VISTA Imaging within 24 hours when applicable.
• Prepares correspondence and memos as needed.
• Schedule and register patients; update demographics and ensure VA forms are used correctly.
