Job summary

Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists, Inc. (VRSI) is hiring an Employment Specialist for the HVRP program to assist veterans facing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in securing and retaining livable-wage employment.

You will guide veterans from eligibility through placement and follow-up, coordinating services and referrals as needed. You will conduct assessments, develop employment plans, deliver job readiness training, and engage employers to create opportunities nationwide, often

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in social work, human services, counseling, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in workforce development, employment services, or a related field.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Meet with each veteran to learn their skills, work history, interests, and barriers to employment.
• Develop personal employment plans with career goals, next steps, and timelines.
• Provide job readiness training including resume writing and interview preparation.
• Build relationships with local employers for job placements.
• Maintain confidential client records and submit regular program reports.
