Job summary

Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists, Inc. (VRSI) seeks an Employment Specialist to support the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP) across Wisconsin. You will assess veterans, build employment plans, provide job readiness training, place candidates with employers, and coordinate community services.

This role requires a degree, 2 years of related experience, and reliable transportation; a drive to help veterans achieve livable wages.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in social work, human services, counseling, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in workforce development, employment services, or a related field.
• Reliable transportation and use of a personal vehicle; mileage reimbursed at federal rate.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Meet with veterans to assess skills, work history, interests, and barriers to employment.
• Develop personal employment plans with goals, steps, and timelines.
• Provide job readiness training—resume writing, job search, interview skills.
• Assist with job placement and employer negotiations; stay connected post-placement.
• Engage employers, attend job fairs, and build hiring partnerships.
• Coordinate program reports and track outcomes; maintain confidential records.
