Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Nurse Practitioner to conduct Compensation & Pension disability examinations for Veterans applying for benefits through the VA, in Bangor, ME. This role emphasizes reviewing medical records, performing focused physical assessments, documenting findings, and providing objective medical opinions.

The position is not a treatment role and does not involve prescribing or ongoing patient management.

Qualifications

• Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills including MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF, web-based platforms, and electronic medical records systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct C&P disability examinations for Veterans in accordance with VA program requirements.
• Review medical records, diagnostic testing, and supporting documentation before and during examinations.
• Perform focused physical assessments related to claimed conditions.
• Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Use proprietary examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure reports are complete, accurate, and submitted within required timelines.
• Maintain compliance with VA training requirements, HIPAA, privacy standards, and Loyal Source policies.
• Support other Loyal Source clinics as needed, with approximately 10% travel.
