Job summary

Big Island Pet Care Center in Puna seeks a friendly receptionist to welcome clients and their pets and to support daily front desk operations.

You will answer calls, schedule appointments, update records, collect payments, and collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure smooth patient care. Prior veterinary experience is preferred, and training is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 1 year of veterinary receptionist experience preferred; willingness to train the right person.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for outstanding customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent required, good computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome clients and their pets warmly.
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar.
• Obtain and update accurate patient information and records.
• Assist clients with inquiries and provide information about veterinary services.
• Collect payments and maintain financial records.
• Coordinate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care.
• Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
