Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality care across Medical-Surgical Telemetry units, ED, ICU, or PACU as needed. The position includes 12-hour shifts with float coverage to meet census needs, emphasizing the Watson Model of Care and family-centered practice.

The RN will document IPOCs, collaborate with Care Managers and physicians, and participate in unit quality improvement while upholding the hospital's mission and core values.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of clinical nursing experience.
• 12 months Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care preferred.
• Basic EKG competence.
• CCRN/CCRN-preferred not required.
• Certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float across units to care for Medical-Surgical Telemetry patients.
• Perform nursing assessments and adjust plans based on patient needs.
• Prioritize and organize patient care and ensure follow-through.
• Provide care suitable to the age and needs of patients served.
• Document IPOCs and communicate changes with the care team.
• Participate in discharge planning and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to hospital policies.
• Support unit quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Assist in equipment setup and unit orientation.
