Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Staff Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. The RN will organize, plan, and direct care for a defined patient population using Watson Model of Care.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, SBAR handoffs, IPIC documentation, discharge planning, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Requires RN licensure and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience.
• Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Basic EKG competence required.
• Certification in Progressive Critical Care Nursing preferred.
• Certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
• Internal candidates who completed the MLKCH Versant Nurse Residency Program will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Use nursing process to assess and plan care for patients and families.
• Perform focused nursing assessments and prioritize care.
• Provide age-appropriate care and apply current literature to decisions.
• Support Patient Satisfaction efforts and maintain therapeutic nurse-patient relationships.
• Coordinate discharge planning with Care Managers and multidisciplinary team.
• Document assessments, plans, and evaluations accurately in IPOC.
