Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA seeks an experienced Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) to float across Medical-Surgical Telemetry units, ED, ICU, and PACU as needed. The role emphasizes patient-family centered care, 12-hour accountability, and adherence to the Watson Model of Care, with a focus on mission and core values.

The position requires at least 12 months of clinical nursing experience, preferably in Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care, and BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• 12 months of clinical nursing experience required.
• Experience in Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care preferred.
• Basic EKG competence.

Responsibilities

• Float across Medical-Surgical Telemetry units, ED, ICU, or PACU as census requires.
• Use nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Prioritize and organize care, communicate changes to physicians and team.
• Provide age-appropriate care with current best practices and literature.
• Document care in IPOC following policies and procedures.
• Coordinate discharge planning with care managers.
• Supervise and mentor ancillary staff and registry personnel.
• Ensure patient safety and uphold professional appearance and ID badge.
