Job summary

Cox Enterprises is seeking an automotive inspector to verify VINs, mileage, and sub series in our inspection system. You will inspect exterior and interior conditions, document damage, and ensure accurate data entry to support vehicle condition reports.

You will perform post-sale inspections and walk-around checks for online vehicle exchanges, while handling other duties as needed. A valid driver’s license and basic automotive knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 0–2 years in body shop, mechanical, claims or estimating.
• Must pass Inspector Certification Exam within 90 days.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to multitask and document accurately.
• Comfort with handheld documentation devices.

Responsibilities

• Verify VIN, mileage and sub series in inspection system.
• Inspect equipment and options; document damage or issues.
• Record exterior condition: tires, frame, glass, panels.
• Record interior condition: seats, dash, options.
• Complete data entry to document vehicle condition.
• Conduct PSI/OVE walk-around inspections; perform related duties.
