Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking a field inspector to assess incoming vehicles for damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues. You will prepare condition reports, cost estimates, and related documentation, ensuring compliance with policies and safety standards.

The role involves outdoor work and requires strong communication, organizational, and technical skills. OVE inspections and day-end procedures are part of the daily workflow, with overtime possible based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles for damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues using work orders.
• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Set up day-end procedures and perform day-end processes.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and system capabilities.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
• Conduct OVE courtesy walk-around inspections.
• Maintain knowledge of required software packages and web-based applications.
• Stay informed on body/mechanical, frame labor and inspection techniques updates.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in safety activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned and may require overtime.
