Job summary

Cox Automotive USA is seeking an Inspector Apprentice to join our Vehicle Operations team. The role requires you to verify VINs, mileage, and sub-series, and to inspect exterior and interior conditions with precise documentation in the inspection system.

Daily responsibilities include post-sale PSI and walk-around inspections for online vehicle exchange, plus thorough data entry to support condition documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• 0-1 years of body shop, mechanical, claims adjuster or estimating experience.
• Must pass Inspector Certification Exam within 90 days.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system limited to correct VIN, mileage and sub series.
• Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting results including damage, missing or inoperable items.
• Inspect and record vehicle exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels and mechanical components.
• Inspect and record vehicle interior condition, including seats, dashboard and options.
• Complete and verify data entry in support of documentation of vehicle condition.
• Perform and document post sale inspections (PSI) and walk around inspections in support of online vehicle exchange (OVE) process.
