Job summary

Cox Automotive in the United States is seeking an Inspector Apprentice to inspect customer vehicles on receipt, noting damage and mechanical issues, and to complete all required documentation. You will perform day-end procedures and participate in safety programs while maintaining familiarity with the system and tools used for inspections.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and typically less than 2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/GED.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Safe driver’s license required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Preferred: Strong technical understanding with good organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask, follow directions and take instruction.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle information based on work orders and inspect vehicles for damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues.
• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Perform day-end procedures and maintain system knowledge.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR) and conduct safety walks.
• Maintain knowledge of system capabilities and relevant software.
