Job summary

Alter Trading is seeking a Yard Supervisor in Des Moines, IA to lead a team of 6–7 de-manufacturing employees and oversee vehicle de-manufacturing operations. You will ensure safety, equipment maintenance, and efficient workflow while communicating effectively with customers and teammates.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with retail/auto parts experience preferred. Lifting 30–50 lbs (100+ lbs with a partner) and working outside in various weather conditions are expected.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Prior experience in retail environment, ideally auto parts, is advantageous.
• Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs and 100+ lbs with a 2-person lift.

Responsibilities

• Manage preventative maintenance and ensure equipment safety.
• Load and unload cars onto de-manufacturing racks when needed.
• Verify vehicles are drained and recycled properly.
• Ensure Mercury switches are removed and recycled.
• Follow safety and environmental requirements for vehicle processing.
• Maintain records and metrics for the de-manufacturing.
• Operate and assist in the de-manufacturing process as required.
• Work outdoors in all weather and be willing to get dirty.
