Job summary

Alter Trading is seeking a Yard Supervisor in Des Moines, IA to lead a team of 6–7 de-manufacturing employees and oversee vehicle de-manufacturing operations. You will ensure safety, equipment maintenance, and efficient workflow while communicating effectively with customers and teammates.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage preventative maintenance and ensure equipment safety.

• Follow safety and environmental requirements for vehicle processing.
• Maintain records and metrics for the de-manufacturing.
• Operate and assist in the de-manufacturing process as required.
• Work outdoors in all weather and be willing to get dirty.

Salary Range: $24.00 To $30.00 Hourly

Join Wrench ‘N Go as a Yard Supervisor and drive the recycling process by managing vehicle de-manufacturing employees. This position is a supervisory position that will lead a team of 6 - 7 vehicle de-manufacturing employees. You will lead your team in the de-manufacturing of vehicles, equipment maintenance, safety procedures, shop maintenance and cleanliness. You will need to be a good communicator and able to make quick and effective decisions. There will be times you will be required to operate equipment and assist in the de-manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages equipment preventative maintenance and ensures it is safe and in proper working condition.
• At times load and unload cars onto and off of the de-manufacturing racks.
• Verify all cars are drained of all liquids and placed into appropriate receptacles.
• Verify all Mercury switches are pulled from vehicles and recycled properly.
• Follows and implements safety and environmental requirements for processing vehicles.
• Performs or coordinates preventative and routine maintenance on the machinery.
• Maintain required records and metrics for the de-manufacturing process.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and be willing to get dirty.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a proactive approach to work, a strong commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn and grow. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Prior experience in retail environment ideally in an auto parts area is advantageous. Must have math skills, POS proficiency, and ability to multitask with in-person and phone customers. Excellent communication and a positive, team-oriented attitude are essential. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs. and 100+lbs on 2-person lift.
