Job summary

Alter Trading Corporation is recruiting for a Lead position in Des Moines, IA. The role encompasses administrative, clerical, and retail duties, including supervising counter staff, processing titles, and managing inventory.

Strong customer service, cash handling, and Excel/Word skills are required. The Lead will oversee showroom operations, social promotions, and day-to-day activities, with a focus on accurate reporting and team training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ cashier experience in retail.
• 1–3 years experience as office/clerical assistant.
• Intermediate level skills in Word and Excel.
• Excellent customer service and ability to handle customers and staff with courtesy and respect.

Responsibilities

• Greets and screens customers, vendors and other visitors including staff.
• Answer incoming calls in a courteous manner and provide product/price information.
• Give direction and respond to questions from customers, vendors, and employees and/or direct calls to appropriate area.
• Interact with tow truck drivers and parts sales staff.
• Supervise online parts or car sales.
• Inspect inbound and outbound customers for parts and tools.
• Maintain a presentable showroom.
• Inventory management.
• Supervise, assign, and review work of Counter Clerks; provide training and direction as needed.
• Data entry, manage, develop, and run reports.
• Balance cash drawer and process payments.
• Maintain documentation backups for payments.
• Check day-end reports for accuracy.
