Job summary

Alter Trading Corporation in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Metal Recycling Warehouse Production & Customer Service team member. You will assist with loading material for shipment, unload from supplier vehicles, and sort material for processing under supervision.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (not required), be able to lift 30–50 lbs (100+ lbs with a partner), and have some forklift or machinery experience; training is provided. Safety gear is required at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Ability to interact with suppliers and customers in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Prior forklift or machinery experience is beneficial but not required; training will be provided.
• Some mechanical aptitude is necessary.
• Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs, and 100+ lbs with a two-person lift.

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading material for shipment and unloading from supplier vehicles, and sorting material into appropriate areas for processing.
• Under supervision, loads and unloads material from customer vehicles or trucks and sorts into appropriate areas, uses mechanized equipment to sort and/or break down material for customer use.
