Job summary

Turner Construction Co. seeks a VDC Manager to lead the VDC department, directing preconstruction, engineering, and field BIM deliverables for the regional unit. You will oversee VDC staff, participate in site visits, and set BIM standards to ensure quality and coordination across teams.

You will advise on staffing, train teams, and collaborate with engineers, designers, subcontractors, and owners to deliver accurate BIM models and coordinated project documents throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of BIM-related experience.
• Thorough knowledge of construction BIM tools for cost, scheduling, estimating, and coordination.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Reads and interprets contract documents, drawings, specs, and schedules.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to present technical material.

Responsibilities

• Oversee activities of VDC Coordinators, VDC Engineers, and VDC Project Engineers.
• Visit job sites to troubleshoot BIM issues and resolve problems.
• Establish BIM standards for quality and monitor adherence on job sites and meetings.
• Provide expertise on local standards, owner requirements, and other BIM needs.
• Advise Project Leadership on staffing during project setup.
• Conduct workshops and training to apply BIM in preconstruction and project activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with engineers, design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owner's reps.
• Develop working knowledge of contract documents and 3D deliverables.
