Job summary

Clayco is seeking a VDC Engineer to become a strategic asset within our design-build teams. You will support 3D/2D coordination, BIM workflows, and handover processes across diverse projects nationwide.

The role requires Autodesk BIM tools exposure, Cloud platforms, and a willingness to travel. You will help drive digital practice excellence, mentor teams, and contribute to the knowledge gatekeeping throughout pre-construction to handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.
• 2+ years in AEC, focusing on MEP coordination.
• 2+ years with VDC/BIM processes.
• Strong knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• 3+ years with Autodesk Building Design Suite (Revit, Assemble, AutoCAD, Navisworks) and with Structionsite, DroneDeploy, BIM 360/ACC.
• Willing to travel and relocate to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the design-build team to facilitate 3D and 2D coordination.
• Liaison with the design team and project subcontractors through BIM-centric activities.
• Provide technical support for in-house applications.
• Assist Pre-Con with quantities extraction and scheduling.
• Assist and coach project teams in BIM best practices.
• Coordinate 3D content modeled by others and model content not provided.
• Perform 4D virtual building analysis with scheduling teams.
• Perform 5D virtual building analysis with estimating.
• Perform and document clash detection and assist in resolution.
• Take-off material quantities for conceptual estimating using BIM tech.
• Manage model changes through design updates and as-built conditions.
• Serve as information manager and content gatekeeper throughout the project.
