Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Engineer to join our growing team. You will support design-build activities, drive 3D and 2D coordination, and help implement our Digital Practice Technology across the project lifecycle from pre-construction through handover.

You will collaborate with design teams and subcontractors, provide BIM technical support, perform 4D/5D analyses, manage model updates, and mentor teams in BIM best practices while traveling to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 2+ years of experience in the AEC industry, with emphasis on MEP coordination.
• Minimum 2 years experience with VDC/BIM processes.
• Solid knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• 3+ years with Autodesk Building Design Suite (Revit, Assemble, AutoCAD, Navisworks).
• 3+ years with Structionsite, DroneDeploy, and BIM 360/ACC cloud technologies.
• Willing to travel and relocate to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist design-build team with 3D and 2D coordination.
• Coordinate BIM content with design team and subcontractors.
• Provide technical support for in-house applications.
• Assist Pre-Con with quantities extraction and scheduling.
• Coach project teams in BIM best practices.
• Coordinate 3D content modeled by others and model missing content.
• Perform 4D virtual building analyses with scheduling teams.
• Perform 5D virtual building analyses with estimating teams.
• Document clash detection and support conflict resolution.
• Manage model changes through design updates and as-built conditions.
• Serve as information manager and content gatekeeper for projects.
