Job summary

Clayco is seeking a VDC Senior Engineer to join its growing design-build team. You will support 3D/2D coordination, liaise with design partners and subs through BIM activities, and provide technical in-house application support across design, pre-construction, and construction phases.

You will contribute to 4D/5D analyses, model management, and clash detection while coaching teams on BIM best practices. Travel to job sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• 2+ years in AEC, with emphasis on MEP coordination.
• 3+ years VDC/BIM related processes.
• Strong understanding of construction principles/practices.
• 3+ years' experience with Revit, Assemble, AutoCAD, Navisworks.
• 3+ years with Structionsite, DroneDeploy, BIM 360/ACC.
• Willing to travel and relocate to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the design-build team to facilitate 3D and 2D coordination.
• Liaison with design team and subcontractors through BIM-centric activities.
• Provide technical support for in-house applications.
• Assist Pre-Con with quantities extraction and scheduling.
• Coach project teams in the use of BIM best practices.
• Coordinate 3D content modeled by others and model missing content.
• Perform 4D virtual building analysis with scheduling teams.
• Perform 5D virtual building analysis with estimating team.
• Perform and document clash detection and support conflict resolution.
• Material quantity take-off for conceptual estimating using BIM tech.
• Manage model changes through design updates and as-built conditions.
• Serve as information manager and content gatekeeper for the project.
