Job summary

Clayco seeks a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Engineer to join our growing team. You will support design‑build with BIM coordination, 3D/2D modeling, and digital practice technologies across phases from pre-construction through handover.

You will coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and scheduling to perform 4D/5D analyses, clash detection, quantities take-off, and content governance. Travel to job sites is required; relocation may be needed across nationwide projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 2+ years in the AEC industry with emphasis on MEP coordination.
• Minimum 2 years of VDC/BIM processes experience.
• Solid knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• 3+ years with Autodesk BIM tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks) and related platforms.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate 3D and 2D coordination for design-build teams.
• Liaise with design teams and subcontractors on BIM activities.
• Provide technical support for in-house BIM applications.
• Assist Pre-Con with quantities extraction and scheduling.
• Coach project teams in BIM best practices.
• Coordinate 3D content and model changes; perform 4D/5D analyses.
• Perform and document clash detection; support conflict resolution.
• Conduct quantity take-offs for conceptual estimates.
