Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Senior Engineer to join its growing team. This role focuses on 3D/4D/5D BIM coordination across design-build cycles and involves supporting the digital practice technology for design analysis, pre-construction, construction, and handover.

You will work with the design team and subs on BIM-centric tasks, coach colleagues in BIM best practices, and help ensure successful project delivery. Travel to sites nationwide will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 3–5 years in AEC, specializing in MEP coordination.
• Minimum 3 years with VDC/BIM processes.
• Strong knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• Experience with Autodesk BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD).
• Experience with Structionsite, DroneDeploy, BIM 360/ACC.
• Willing to travel/relocate to job site.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the design-build team to facilitate 3D and 2D coordination.
• Liaison with the design team and project subcontractors through BIM-centric activities.
• Provide technical support for in-house applications used in projects.
• Assist Pre-Con with quantities extraction and scheduling.
• Assist and coach project teams in BIM best practices.
• Coordinate 3D content modeled by others and model content not provided.
• Perform 4D virtual building analysis with scheduling coordination.
• Perform 5D virtual building analysis with estimating collaboration.
• Perform and document clash detection on the virtual model and assist in conflict resolution.
• Perform material quantity take-off for conceptual estimating.
• Manage model changes through design updates and as-built conditions.
• Serve as information manager and content gatekeeper for the project.
