Job summary

Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District is seeking an Assistant Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach for Spring 2027 in the Athletic Department. The role focuses on developing fundamental skills, strategies and fitness, while modeling sportsmanship and integrity for student athletes.

The coach will lead a staff of assistants, work with the athletic director and principals to meet program goals, and participate in clinics and professional development to upgrade knowledge and effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Must organize and supervise the entire athletic program.
• Proven coaching experience in the assigned sport (major sports).
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and openness to new theories and practices.

Responsibilities

• Know and implement Briarcliff UFSD athletic policies and ensure staff follow them.
• Understand command lines and refer requests through proper channels with the athletic director and principal.
• Train and inform staff; conduct staff meetings and clinics for program awareness.
• Maintain discipline, morale and cooperation; supervise assistants and coordinators.
• Assist athletic director with scheduling, transportation and tournament logistics; coordinate with maintenance and staff.
• Mentor athletes to promote character traits and support academic progress; monitor grades and conduct.
• Direct student managers and assistants; manage equipment and inventory; enforce safety protocols.
