Job summary

Briarcliff Manor UFSD is seeking a Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach for Spring 2027 to assist the Head Coach in developing student-athletes on and off the field, plan practices, teach fundamentals and game strategy, and promote sportsmanship and academic growth.

The position reports to the athletic director, supervises assistant coaches, and requires knowledge of athletic policies, compliance with league rules, and effective communication with players and families.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and continuously update theories and procedures.
• The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Has thorough knowledge of athletic policies and ensures implementation by staff.
• Knows state and league regulations; interprets them for staff.
• Understands proper command lines; refers requests through proper channels.
• Establishes the philosophy, skills, and techniques to be taught by staff; designs clinics and meetings.
• Trains staff and encourages professional growth through clinic attendance.
• Delegates duties, supervises implementation, and evaluates assistants.
