Job summary

Briarcliff Manor UFSD is seeking a head coach for the Athletic Department to lead and supervise the total sports program at the high school level.

The successful candidate will guide athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training, while modeling sportsmanship, character, and academic commitment; responsibilities include staff supervision and collaboration with the athletic director and principals.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
• Substantial knowledge of technical aspects of the sport and ongoing study of new theories and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of athletic policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Knowledge of regulations; implement and interpret them for staff.
• Understand administrative command lines; refer requests through proper channels.
• Establish the fundamental philosophy and design staff conferences to ensure awareness.
• Train staff and encourage clinic attendance.
• Delegate duties, supervise implementation and evaluate assistants.
• Maintain discipline and address grievances.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic director/principal.
• Advise athletic director and recommend policy or procedural changes.
• Supervise staff and coach development to support program goals.
• Direct student-athletes in safety, sportsmanship and program integrity.
