Job summary

New England Controls Inc. seeks an Application Engineer to own the full lifecycle of valve solutions from initial conversations to final delivery. This role sits at the junction of technical problem solving, customer engagement, and commercial results.

You will collaborate with Account Managers and Order Management, bringing valve expertise to customer discussions and ensuring accurate, timely solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical preferred.
• 0-5+ years of experience in valves, valve automation, process control, instrumentation, or related industrial technologies.
• Hands-on familiarity with control valves, isolation valves, and/or safety relief valves including sizing, selection, and application.
• Experience in a customer-facing role solving technical problems for customers.
• Ability to explain technical solutions clearly to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Strong follow-through and ownership to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Results-oriented mindset with drive to grow the business with customers.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple requests and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Propose and sell valve solutions by listening to customer requirements and recommending configuration, sizing, and approach.
• Grow NECI's valve automation business across ball valves, butterfly valves, valve automation and complete solutions.
• Achieve sales goals for new product initiatives by engaging in principal product launches and customer needs analysis.
• Provide technical support from start-up to issue resolution and calibration.
• Coordinate on-time delivery by assessing needs and working with suppliers.
