Job summary

UCI Health seeks an experienced MCS Coordinator to oversee the mechanical circulatory program and coordinate care for VAD patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will train nursing staff, patients, and families on MCS devices, and collaborate with physicians to promote high-quality, cost-effective care. A CA RN license, ACLS, and BSN are required for this on-site role in California.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of acute care experience with VAD/MCS.
• 2+ years of recent clinical experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Current CA RN license.
• ACLS certification and BLS.
• BSN degree required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in management of the mechanical circulatory support (MCS) program.
• Coordinate clinical evaluation of VAD candidates and care for patients across clinic, hospital, and follow-up settings.
• Serve as a resource for nursing and staff on MCS patient care and equipment.
• Lead initial and annual MCS education for staff, patients, and caregivers.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and internal guidelines; participate in on-call rotations.
