Job summary

University of Southern California seeks a VAD Transplant Coordinator RN to deliver specialized nursing care for VAD and cardiothoracic transplant patients. You will serve as the primary contact for patients and families and coordinate with the transplant team for comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, education and community resources.

This role includes on-call coverage, collaboration with physicians, case managers and EMS, and ongoing involvement in policy updates and performance

Qualifications

• BSN required for nursing practice.
• 1 year of critical/intensive care nursing experience.
• Clinical experience with ventricular assistive devices (VAD).
• RN (CA) license and BLS/ACLS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for VAD and cardiothoracic transplant patients.
• Act as the central contact for patients and families for the VAD/transplant program.
• Offer in-patient and out-patient care, education and community resources.
• Participate in on-call shifts and clinical rounds as needed.
• Coordinate with transplant team, physicians, and case managers.
• Support policy updates, documentation, and performance improvement efforts.
