Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County seeks a skilled nurse to join the Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) program. You will coordinate pre- and post-VAD care, work with physicians, and ensure smooth patient evaluations, admissions, and follow-up in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will train nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams on MCS equipment, supervise care delivery, and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines while supporting patient families.

Qualifications

  • Prior ICU nurse experience required.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation and work weekends/evenings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) program in collaboration with physicians.
  • Coordinate clinical evaluation of potential MCS candidates and manage pre/post VAD patient care.
  • Provide patient care during clinic visits, hospital admissions, discharge and follow-up, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Train nurses and interdisciplinary teams on MCS education and equipment.
