Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a UX Designer to shape the future of our eCommerce experiences. You will lead end-to-end design, from discovery to high-fidelity delivery, translating business needs and data insights into intuitive user experiences.

Collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and stakeholders to run experiments, apply brand guidelines, and advocate for users while balancing business goals. Join a team focused on data-driven design and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of UX/UI design work experience with a strong portfolio focused on eCommerce.
• Expertise in Figma or similar design tools and design systems.
• Proven experience leveraging data analytics and experimentation (A/B/multivariate) to inform design decisions.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices.
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, presenting and defending design decisions confidently.
• Experience with iterative product development and agile workflows.
• Bonus: familiarity with conversion optimization, personalization, and behavioral analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Optimizely, Amplitude).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design for eCommerce flows, from discovery and concepting to high-fidelity design and delivery.
• Translate complex business requirements and data insights into simple, engaging user experiences.
• Use A/B and multivariate testing to validate design hypotheses and inform decisions.
• Collaborate with product and analytics teams to design experiments and interpret results.
• Apply strong interaction and visual design skills while adhering to brand guidelines.
• Advocate for the user while balancing business goals and technical constraints.
• Contribute to our design system and elevate design quality across the organization.
