Davey Tree Surgery Co. is hiring an experienced Line Clearance Climbing Trimmer to support the Greater Akron, Ohio region. The role emphasizes safe climbing, pruning and removal work for major electric utility providers, with CDL preferred and a focus on ground crew collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• CDL preferred: Class A or B with air brake endorsement.
• Line clearance experience or related tree work preferred.
• State-required pesticide licenses or certificates preferred if applicable.
• ISA Arborist®, ISA Tree Worker® and/or TCIA Tree Care Safety Professional® preferred.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for major electric utilities with safety and skill.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees; remove broken limbs from lines and roofs.
• Identify trees and follow industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related equipment.
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.
