Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Akron, OH is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimming Climber to support the Greater Akron region. CDL holder preferred, and the role is on-site with potential growth opportunities.

You will perform pruning and removal for utility providers, operate chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts, and work safely with a crew under the supervision of a foreperson. The office is outdoors and daily work varies by location.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees with Davey’s DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for major electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more.
• Work as an active crew member with ground crew and foreperson.
