Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to service Dayton, OH and surrounding regions. This full-time, on-site role welcomes CDL holders or climbing experience and emphasizes safety, teamwork, and outdoor work.

You will prune, remove and maintain trees around power lines, using various climbing systems and equipment. Compensation is hourly and ranges with experience; benefits begin Day 1 and include health, 401(k), and disability coverage.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates, if required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees as needed.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as part of an active crew with ground crew and foreperson.
