Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to support Springfield, OH operations. The role involves pruning and removing trees for major utility providers, including working with climbing systems and operating equipment in outdoor settings.

Qualified candidates love the outdoors, hold a valid driver’s license, and meet the company’s safety training requirements. CDL is preferred; prior line clearance experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates if state law requires.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist or TCIA Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform tree pruning and removal for utility providers.
• Remove broken limbs from trees, roofs, and lines.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Work as part of an active crew with ground crew and foreperson.
