Job summary

Sitka (CBS) — Finance is seeking a Customer Service/Payment Clerk to handle payments by mail and in person, assist customers with utility services, and answer questions about payments and services. You will work under the Budget/Treasury Officer and carry out daily cash reconciliations and posting of receipts.

Responsibilities include serving as the first front-counter contact, routing calls, processing payments, handling autopay batches, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in customer service, bookkeeping or cash handling.
• Equivalent combination of experience, education, and training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact at the front counter.
• Directs phone calls to appropriate departments.
• Process payments received by mail or in person.
• Process applications and work orders for utility accounts.
• Research ambiguous and unreadable payments.
• Provide answers to questions about utility services or payments.
• Perform daily cash and check reconciliations.
