Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Akron, OH seeks an experienced Line Clearance Climbing Trimmer to join our utility team servicing the Greater Akron region. CDL preferred, safety-focused, and ready to work outdoors climbing trees.

You’ll prune, remove, and repair trees around electric utilities, operate chainsaws and lifts, and work with a crew under a foreperson. This is a full-time hourly position with strong benefits and opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates per state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with foreperson and ground staff.
