Job summary

Exelon is seeking an engineer to develop designs, layouts, construction drawings and a bill of materials for relatively complex utility infrastructure projects across generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecom facilities. The role involves field engineering and coordination with internal and external customers, with potential 24x7 coverage during storms.

You will interpret standards, support New Business installations, and help ensure safe operations while meeting customer needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical field with 0–3 years experience, associate degree with 2–5 years, or 5–7 years experience if non-degreed.
• TECH test required (engineering degree exempts).
• Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of construction, operations or engineering principles.
• Proficient CAD skills with design software.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops designs, layouts, construction drawings, and a bill of material for complex systems and multiple projects for utility infrastructure installations, removals or modifications.
• Interprets and applies engineering standards and memos.
• Assists with technical consultation, plan developments and recommendations for customer and company systems.
• Evaluates effectiveness of current design processes and participates on teams.
