Job summary

ComEd is seeking an engineer to design and modify utility infrastructure, producing construction drawings and bills of materials for complex systems. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and customers, interpreting standards, and supporting design for New Business projects.

The position emphasizes CAD proficiency, safety, and reliable energy delivery, with opportunities to work extended hours during storms or emergencies.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience with 0–7 years (or more) in engineering.
• Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of regulations, standards, and practices for utility installations and projects.
• Proficient CAD skills and drawing standards; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs, layouts, construction drawings, and BOMs for utility infrastructure projects.
• Interpret engineering standards and apply them to customer and company needs.
• Coordinate with teams for design development, including New Business installations and relocations.
• Maintain safety and reliability in energy delivery projects.
