Job summary

ComEd in Chicago seeks a design engineering professional to develop designs, layouts, construction drawings, and a bill of materials for large utility projects across electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecom facilities. Field engineering experience is valued.

The role requires interpreting engineering standards, coordinating with customers and internal teams, and supporting New Business installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 3+ years of experience, or an associate degree with 5+ years, or 7+ years of relevant experience if non-degreed.
• Ability to analyze electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs, layouts, construction drawings, and a BOM for large utility projects.
• Interpret and apply engineering standards and memos.
• Provide technical assistance and coordinate New Business installations.
• Support project financial requirements and work extended hours during storms.
