Job summary

Simon Property Group in Indianapolis is seeking a Utility Billing Specialist I to complete and coordinate utility charge calculations for tenants at assigned facilities. You will validate calculations, maintain rate libraries, and support energy audits with property managers, field personnel, and finance teams.

The role requires a business degree or several years' related experience, expert Excel skills, and strong communication and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• Business degree or 4 years related experience required.
• Ability to research and compile analytical data.
• Expert Excel user with working knowledge of Access and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Based on monthly schedule, complete charge adjustments for gas, water, electricity for assigned facilities.
• Complete financial documentation as required for assigned facilities.
• For assigned facilities evaluate utility allocations and collaborate with paralegals, collectors, lease accounting, and accounting teams.
• Coordinate planning and implementation of energy audits between third parties and property managers.
• Validate utility usages by property and maintain utility rate libraries.
• Communicate results and issues with management at multiple levels.
